Meet Austin Bock

What’s better than one Austin at Legacy Capital? Apparently, Dave thinks two.
By Austin Bock

My name is Austin Bock, and I’m proud to introduce myself as the newest partner at Legacy Capital. To those of you I already have the privilege of working with, thank you for being here. To those of you I’m meeting for the first time, I’m glad you’re reading this.

Joining Legacy Capital as a partner didn’t feel like a career decision so much as a values one. I spent a long time looking for a place where the work comes first, where the relationships are real, and where the people around you push you to be better. I found that here. Dave and Austin built something genuinely worth joining, and I don’t take lightly the trust it took to bring me in.

What drew me most was the culture of the firm. Independent, straightforward, and focused on what actually matters to clients. In my experience, the best financial planning isn’t just about building wealth. It’s about understanding what someone is working toward and making sure every decision along the way is in service of that. Legacy Capital was built on that belief, and it’s one I’ve held throughout my career. Coming here felt less like starting something new and more like finding where I was always supposed to land.

On the personal side, life has been wonderfully eventful. My wife Madelyn and I welcomed our second child early this year, a reminder that the best things in life have a way of arriving on their own schedule. We also recently moved to Inver Grove Heights, for a little more space, a neighborhood full of young families, and to be closer to the people who matter most to us. Between the new home, the new firm, and two kids who are surprisingly good sleepers, I have no shortage of things to be grateful for.

Gratitude, really, is the whole point of this letter. I got into this work because I wanted to help people. That sounds simple, but I mean it plainly. I wanted to sit across from someone navigating a big decision, a job change, a retirement, a business sale, a growing family, and actually be useful to them. Every year I’ve done this work, I’ve become more convinced that the relationships are the job. The planning matters deeply, but it’s the trust behind it that makes any of it worthwhile.

I’m grateful for the clients who extend that trust to me. I’m grateful for partners who lead with integrity and welcomed me like family. I’m grateful for Madelyn, who has supported every late night, every big decision, and every leap of faith along the way, and for our kids, who have a wonderful way of reminding me what all of it is really for. And I’m grateful that somewhere in the middle of all of it, I get to spend my days doing work I genuinely love.

I don’t take any of that for granted.

With gratitude,
Austin Bock
