Meet Our Team
David Boniface
Wealth Advisor/President
(651) 982-4780
Dave Boniface has spent more than 35 years helping people build, protect, and pass on their wealth. He founded Legacy Capital in 2001 to do that work his own way. Independently, with the client's interest first and nothing to sell. In the years since, he's learned that good advice has far less to do with picking the right investment than with truly understanding the person across the table. Many of his clients have been with him for decades; today he works with their children and grandchildren, also.
He has guided those clients through every kind of market — the dot-com collapse, the 2008 financial crisis, the COVID crash, and plenty of quieter scares in between. The people who have worked with him for a while will tell you that when markets get louder, Dave gets calmer and more direct. He's seen this story before, and he knows the biggest risk in a frightening market is usually the impulse to abandon a good plan at the worst possible moment. It's why he holds so firmly to one idea: the plan leads the portfolio, never the other way around. He'd rather be approximately right than precisely wrong, and he won't make an investment decision that doesn't trace back to something a client actually wants for their life.
Along the way, Dave has been named a Five Star Wealth Manager fourteen times — an honor given to the top 7% of wealth managers in the Twin Cities. He has been quoted in Barons and CBS MoneyWatch and Investment News media outlets Dave has also appeared on the Forbes list as a 2025 Best-In-State Wealth Advisor. Ask him about it and he'll change the subject. After 35 years of working with people’s money, he'll tell you the money and the accolades were never the point. Wealth is a tool for the life it makes possible, and time is the one currency none of us can ever earn back. It's a belief that shows up in how he gives advice and in how he lives.
Dave is, first and last, a family man. Lucky for him, these days the work and the family happily overlap. One of the best parts of the job is that he gets to do it beside his wife, Jane and son, Austin. Jane often has to remind Dave and Austin to keep the market talk to a minimum during family gatherings.
Outside the office, you'll usually find Dave with his wife Jane, taking their grandchildren Isla and Ava to the swimming pool, relaxing at the cabin in Webb Lake, WI, or hiking with the family dog, Miller. Dave also enjoys riding bicycle, whether on the trails near the cabin or on his Zwift in the basement at their home in Wyoming, MN. Dave grew up in a small town in western Wisconsin and attended college at University of Minnesota Duluth. He's also a lifelong Vikings fan — which, he'll tell you, has taught him a great deal about managing expectations.
Austin Bock
Wealth Advisor/CFP
651-982-4780
Austin Bock spent the better part of his career building his own practice before joining Legacy Capital as a partner in 2026. He didn't come for a change of scenery. He came because he already held the belief the firm was built on: you don't prescribe before you diagnose. Recommending a portfolio before you understand a person's life isn't planning, and it isn't service. When a long-time peer already shares the conviction you've built a career around, the partnership tends to write itself.
Austin is a Certified Financial Planner® professional and holds his Series 7 and Series 66 registrations through LPL Financial. A decade of planning has taught him where real value lives: tax-focused strategy, moving wealth to the next generation on purpose rather than by default, and building portfolios around what a client actually wants rather than what the market is doing that week. He works with individuals, families, and business owners — pre-retirees weighing life after work, retirees learning to spend what they built, and families thinking about the generation to come.
As a partner, Austin brings an owner's perspective to every relationship: he knows what it means to build, protect, and eventually transition wealth, because he's doing it himself. His approach is direct and thorough, built around the specific picture of each client. Ask how he works and he'll repeat a line he lives by: if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together. He's a teacher at heart. He'd rather a client leave a meeting understanding why a recommendation makes sense than simply trust that it does.
Outside the office, Austin's life revolves around family and the outdoors. He and his wife, Madelyn, are raising two kids, Harley and Axel, and their best days are usually spent outside. He's an avid angler, chasing walleye on Mille Lacs and the Chippewa Flowage — fisheries that reward patience and local knowledge, qualities that serve him just as well in the work. Closer to home in Inver Grove Heights, the family keeps a garden, hits the farmers markets, and spends plenty of time in the kitchen. He's hands-on and detail-oriented by nature — the same care he brings to a client's plan.
Austin Boniface, CFP®
Wealth Advisor/CFP
(651) 982-4780
Austin Boniface grew up watching his father build Legacy Capital from the ground up. He joined the firm part-time in 2015, came on full-time after graduating from Augsburg University in 2017 with a degree in Finance, and has spent every year since getting deeper into the work he loves: turning complex financial situations into clear, actionable plans.
Austin is a Certified Financial Planner® and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA). He also holds his Series 7 and Series 66 registrations through LPL Financial. In recent years, helping business owners has become a real focus of his practice — and as an entrepreneur himself, it's work he understands from the inside. He helps owners prepare for the day they step away from the company they built, whether that means a sale, a transfer to family, or something in between. He pursued the CEPA designation for exactly that reason. It's some of the most personal work he does: a business is rarely just a business, and the plan must account for everything wrapped up in it.
That connection to the entrepreneurial world goes back to the start of his career. Before joining Legacy Capital, Austin interned at Hill Capital, a private equity fund that backs entrepreneurs across the Midwest, and he still makes a point of attending their events to learn from other founders and business owners.
Ask Austin what he likes best about the job and he won't say the spreadsheets. He'll say it's the people. He loves taking something complicated and making it click, walking a client through a strategy in plain English until they understand exactly what they own and why. But he'll be the first to tell you he learns at least as much as he teaches. Business owners especially have shown him things no textbook covers. Lessons about family, patience, and knowing when to hold on and when to let go. Some of the most useful wisdom he carries, about money and about life, has come from the other side of the table.
Before his career in finance, Austin was a competitive wrestler at Augsburg University, helping the team to four top-5 finishes at the NCAA National Tournament — including a first-place finish in 2015. He earned three NWCA Academic All-American honors during his time at Augsburg. After graduating, he stayed close to the program for two more years as a graduate assistant coach, helping Augsburg to two top-three national finishes, including a national championship in 2019. He'll tell you the same qualities that made him effective on the mat show up in his work every day: preparation, composure under pressure, and never giving up on a problem until it's solved.
Outside the office, Austin recently married his wife, Emma, and the two have settled in Minneapolis. They spend as much time outdoors as Minnesota allows and have made a habit of traveling the country to visit national parks, often planned around Emma's marathons, where Austin can reliably be found somewhere along the course with a sign and far too much enthusiasm.
When not traveling, weekends are often spent at the family cabin on Webb Lake in Wisconsin, where he and Dave can be overheard discussing stock and bond markets from the pontoon. The two also keep up a long-running fat tire biking tradition that's less a hobby than an ongoing competition — neither will admit who made it back to the cabin first. Rounding out the picture is Rhubarb — Austin's dog, running partner, and tireless student of new tricks. A Border Collie mix, she's found her true calling "herding" Austin's young nieces, Isla and Ava. Closer to home, Austin and Emma can often be found walking Rhubarb across the Stone Arch Bridge.
Jane Boniface
Office Manager
(651) 982-4780
Jane Boniface has been part of Legacy Capital since the beginning, which means she was here before most of our clients were. A retired CPA with an accounting degree from St. Cloud State University, she runs the operational backbone of the firm: payroll, accounting, tax work, and the thousand details that keep everything else running smoothly. She's also Dave's wife and has helped shape the firm from the inside since the day it opened.
More than anything, Jane is often the first voice clients hear when they call. She knows the families we serve, remembers the details that matter, and makes sure working with Legacy Capital feels exactly as personal as we intend it to be.
Outside the office, Jane and Dave spend most weekends at the family cabin in Wisconsin. She enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, and slow afternoons on the pontoon. She's a devoted grandmother to Isla and Ava, a loyal Gopher football and basketball fan, and a daily walker, usually with the family dog, Miller, a step behind.
Kim Hagle
LPL Registered Administrative Assistant
Kim has been with Legacy Capital since 2002, almost from the very beginning. More than two decades later, she runs the operational side of client service: opening accounts, getting transfers and paperwork right the first time, moving money where it needs to go, and making sure clients can log in and see everything in one place. For most of the families we serve, Kim has been the steady hand behind their accounts for the entire life of the relationship.
She's also fully licensed through FINRA, holding her Series 7 and Series 65 registrations through LPL Financial, and she's a notary public so the documents that need notarizing can usually be handled right here, without sending you elsewhere. Whatever the question — a form, a transfer, getting into your accounts — Kim's instinct is to solve it on the spot rather than pass you down a chain, and when she can't, she makes sure the right person does before it slips.
Outside the office, Kim's time goes to her husband, her five grandchildren, and the neighbors she's close with — and she rarely turns down a good game of bingo.
